Privacy notice for our business letters
You received a letter from us that you did not ask for, and you came here to find out what it is. This page says where we got your address, what we do with it, how long we keep it, who else sees it, and how you stop the letters.
Who processes the data
The data controller is the company that sent the letter:
- Name
- WebAdmin OÜ
- Registry code
- 14698205
- Address
- Hauka 13, 11315 Tallinn, Eesti
- info@webadmin.ee
Where we got your address
We do not buy addresses and we do not collect them from forms. There are two sources:
The Estonian Commercial Register. Most addresses come from there: the company filed the address as its own contact and the register is public. We keep our own copy of the register's public data, and we refresh it.
The company's own public website. If the address is published there as a contact, it may have reached our list from there.
If the register holds somebody's personal mailbox, it stays personal data. The company having filed it makes the letter lawful to send; it does not turn the data into something else. A letter to such an address carries its own notice saying where the data came from, and a separate sentence about your right to refuse.
What we hold about you
Public data, and whatever our own correspondence produces:
- The company name, registry code and the address on file with the register.
- The email address and the website address.
- What our check saw on that website: whether it works, whether the security certificate is valid, what software it was built with.
- The letters we sent you, and whether you have refused.
On what basis
An offer may be sent to a business contact address without prior consent, provided there is a simple and free way to refuse (Electronic Communications Act section 103-1(2)). On the data protection side the basis is our legitimate interest (GDPR article 6(1)(f)): we build and maintain websites, and we approach companies whose website is publicly visible.
We do not write to a private mailbox that nobody published as a company contact. The same applies to a sole trader, where the trader is the company.
How long we keep it
Data from the register is kept for as long as the register holds it publicly. The record of letters stays, so that we know what we sent you and when, and so that we do not write to you twice about the same thing.
If you refuse, your address stays with us for exactly one purpose: so that we never write to you again. That entry cannot be deleted, because deleting it would put you back on the list a while later.
There is no automatic deletion deadline set at the moment. You may ask us to delete your data and we will.
Who else sees it
No sender is configured at the moment, and no letter can leave.
We do not sell addresses and we do not pass them to anybody who is not involved in delivering the letter.
If you would rather not
Every letter of ours carries an opt-out link. Press it and we stop writing. You can also write to [email protected]. You do not have to give a reason and it costs nothing. A refusal applies to all of our campaigns at once, not only to the one whose letter you are holding.
Your rights
If your address is personal data, for example first.last@ or a private mailbox, you have these rights and exercising them is free:
- Ask what data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Have wrong data corrected.
- Have the data erased.
- Object to the processing. For direct marketing we stop at once and without weighing it up.
- Lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
Write to [email protected]. Say which address the letter arrived at, and we will find the record. We answer within one month.
The supervisory authority in Estonia is the Data Protection Inspectorate (www.aki.ee).
